It's that time again for novelists, but the first time for me!National Novel Writing Month happens every year in November. Writers sign up to complete 1,600 words per day and go into their caves to do it.
I'm taking the opportunity to finish my first draft of Lovelier than Daylight, which is at about 30,000 words now. This means that instead of writing 1,600 words per day, I'll be writing 2,000, or about eight pages.
Yikes! Please forgive me if I don't get around the blogosphere as much as usual. I'll still post here every Monday, and I'll be back to something approximating normal in December.
And if you would like to be my writing buddy, my NaNoWriMo name is Rosslyn Elliott.
See you there, and happy writing!

I have yet to do this, and I'm not really sure why. The pressure of deadline would normally work well for me, but I just can't get enthused. Maybe it's that I don't believe I could write that much in such a short time.
Good luck, Rosslyn!
I'm not Nanoing...but I am adopting a word count goal for the month. I've been in the revision cave for 2 weeks now. Got some bad eye strain. I need some sunshine for a day or two.
Best wishes!
I wish you well on meeting your NaNoWriMo goal, Rosslyn. Happy writing!
I added you as a buddy. My NaNo name is motleyjm.
Happy writing
Happy writing!
I was really wanting to participate, but I don't think I can this year.
Too much on my plate, on top of which, my baby has just learned to crawl and is into everything!
Next year is already marked on my calendar!!
Loree, Good idea about having a personal word count goal, I think I will try that!!
Hurray for you for trying this. I did NaNo two years ago and wrote almost an entire book. It was a fun time and there's great support with other Nanoer's. Good luck!
Go, Rosslyn! Hope it's a productive month for you! :)
Thanks everybody! It's gonna be hard, but it's the last big push for this contract!
Best of wishes on your NaNo adventure! I'm shadowing NaNo as well this year, working on my WIP which needs about 70K words to finish it.
I'm doing NaNo too this year, but with a similar twist to you. I'm using it to polish up my NaNo manuscript from last year! Good luck! Hope you meet your deadlines.
Yay!
...And I'm adding you as a buddy; thanks. I'm HistoryChick.
Good luck with NaNo. I haven't done it yet, but maybe next year.
Rosslyn, I did this last year to push myself to finish TBL and it was extremely motivating (I wish I could use that stats graph all year!)
I think it will help you, too!
