Thanksgiving Meal

We had a great Thanksgiving with friends. First, we went to our church to help serve a meal that was open to anyone.
While waiting for the meal to start, we also had time to play a game of Loot (pirate card game) with our friends Joe, Linda, and Sheila

After the church meal, we went home and had our own family Thanksgiving meal. In the evening, we went over to our friends' house to play boardgames. Brandon won for the first time! The game took three hours and was the fiercest battle ever fought in Cities and Knights of Catan.

Happy Thanksgiving! Did you have a big turnout at your church? Glad to hear Brandon won -- bet he was pleased :-)

Hey, where the crystal divided dish with olives and gerkins??
The dish at my friend's house had apple chutney and pickled watermelon, kid you not.

Heh heh. It's there, Angie. Look behind the candle on the right of the picture.

Wow - apple chutney and pickled watermelon. Exotic--and completely unaccceptable except as an *addition* to gherkins and olives. Accept no substitutes!

Amy, our turnout was OK - not a huge throng, but it's the first year of the meal, so we will see how it goes next year. I think it might be a good idea to invite a specific group of people or to go up and down the busy street offering plates to the retail workers. My husband did this for one gas station clerk who was very excited to get the turkey dinner. :-)
