Is A Life WIthout Cheese Worth Living?

So I'm going on an elimination diet. The doctor is wondering if I might have a food intolerance that is causing general symptoms like puffy eyes, fatigue, etc.

The elimination diet removes most common irritating foods: all dairy, all grain, citrus fruits, chocolate, and a few other things.

Problem. I love dairy and grain. I subsist on dairy and grain.

I'm going to do the diet for the required three weeks, eating meat, potatoes, vegetables, and non-citrus fruits. I'm doing it because it would be too embarrassing to admit to the doctor that I am incapable of giving up dairy or grain.

I've got to tell you though, if I do turn out to have a dairy or grain intolerance, I think I might just have to put up with the symptoms.

If loving milk is wrong, I don't wanna be right. Or sour cream, or cheese, or eggs... I think I'm going to need a sponsor to call in those moments when I am gripping the arms of my chair and dreaming of a tall, cool glass of milk.

Oh girl, I feel your pain....currently the only dairy I eat is yogurt....at least it's good for digestion....and I rarely eat bread...can't completely give up oatmeal, but there is very little gluten in oatmeal....so i have a modified version of what you're looking at....and I do feel better. When I avoid dairy in particular, I am less stuffed up, my stomach hurts less (it almost always hurts in one fashion or another). And when I don't overdo the bread....I don't bloat.....Good luck!
